Turn on the ignition switch and move the turn signal lever to one direction (L or R). 
Very slowly, gently begin pressing the hazard warning switch button IN.  If the turn
signals start to flash (they may flash once or twice and then quit), you have a bad 
hazard warning switch.

Another test is to remove the yellow (or yellow/black) wire (terminal #49) from the turn signal flasher.
Connect a jumper wire to the #49 terminal and connect the other end to a +12 source
(the fuse panel).  Try the turn signals.  If they work, then you have a bad hazard warning
switch.
