Pull the heads. Let me tell you a story: My first 351C was really
quite nice with 4 bolt mains, forged pistons and a radical camshaft,
and I wanted to be able to rev to 6000RPM. I thought roller rockers
were the way to get there so I put them on the car. What I hadn't
included in my upgrades was any head work and I was running *stock* 2
piece valves! Sure enough, one of the valves lost its head one day,
dropped into and shattered the cylinder. If you want higher
performance, you really need to build the whole motor to patch what
your intentions are. But even if you just want to putt down the
boulevard, replacing the valves with quality singe groove aftermarket
is a must!
