[DeTomaso] 40 and over the hill

GoNancy, I think there are quite a few of the folks that hang around
this forum that one might consider "old." However, I would phrase that
as being more "mature."

As far as my introduction to the Pantera, while finishing out my two
year stint in the army in 1969, I remember seeing the Mangusta and
decided I was eventually going to get one (obviously after I got out of
the army, since at a wage of $125 per month I wasn't in a position to
buy one at that time).

Well, once I got out of the army and got a job, Ford announced the
Pantera. As I recall, I saw a writeup of the Pantera in one of the car
magazines in 1970, and shifted my preference from the Mangusta to the
Pantera.

To answer your question, "... how old were you when your Pantera was
sold to its first owner?", and given I was the first and still the only
owner of 6831, the answer is 32 years old. My body may be more "mature"
but my mind still thinks I am that young lad that drove the car off of
the Cherner Lincoln/Mercury lot in McLean, Virginia, Sunday, December
15, 1974.
