Sept 72 production date would definitely make it a 73. Remember auto manufactures always introduced the new year's models in the fall of the previous year. So as the production report stated the 73 cars were built from July 72 to June 73.

Agreed. Mine is titled as a 72 (3925) and is definitely a pre-L, with original Pre-L bumpers, which makes sense because this says Lusso's start at 4269.  But according to this my car is a 73. My Marti report states manufactured in September of 72.
Hmmm..

Well, its so rusty and rickety I think it has lost its original identity.

Interesting. My car is titled as a 71, but according to this should be a 72.
