Guys,
 
    Dies the crank have to be flat for a12 cylinder boxer?  Can you have 3 flat 4's 120 degrees apart and is it still a flat crank if the throws for each of the 4s are flat?
 
    Here is a "flat" 180 deg V12:

All the rod throws are either at 0 or 180 degrees so when laying on a 
bench, the crank is flat. In a conventional crank, some throws are at 90 degrees.
