Some of these new Hybrid Cars might be great IF you can afford them! Some cost as much as some of our homes!
I guess it may come to the old comment...You can sleep in a car, But you can't drive a house! OK, maybe a camper mobile! lol

I heard a speech by an outstanding economist last week.  He said the exact same thing.  The USA is continuing to use less gas and import few barrels of oil.  But the lack of refining capacity has created a disconnect between oil and gas.  He said that this will not change in the near term.  Expect higher gas prices by the end of the year.

Take a look at the trend in new cars being unveiled at the auto shows.  Even the performance cars are touting hybrid tech.  Some of it is due to government regs, but their forecasters are all predicting higher gas prices.

The current increase is based on refinery issues, not the cost of crude.
Some are shut down, all running at reduced levels.  It's all just BS.
