If my memory is correct, the early cars were 22mm and later 23mm, which is 
more like 7/8 bore, and the GT5-era cars were 25mm, which is 1 inch.   I 
have an early M/C in pieces in the bottom of my parts pile, which I can dig out 
and measure if nobody else comes up with a better answer.
