[DeTomaso] Join a Pantera caravan to Arizona?

Hi Chris,

I am trying to organize the run from the bay area with PCNC, but haven't got any details yet. I'm thinking the folks from Sacramento (Capital Panteras) may want to meet up in the Los Banos area. We could meet up with anyone from the central valley in the Bakersfield area, then push on to our first nights accommodations. I think this is definitely a 2 day thing from the bay area, so I was thinking we might be able to stay the first night in Victorville, San Bernardino, or Palm Springs area depending on when we leave.

Here are the two routes I am currently looking at and kind of leaning toward route 2 outbound and route 1 return:

POCA Fun Rally - Options to Phoenix
(Chandler)

Destination:
Wild Horse Pass Hotel and
Casino
5040 W. Wild Horse Pass
Blvd. Chandler, AZ 85226

Route 1 – Standard: 729 miles, 11 hr 54 min

I5 to
LA, turn left at Hwy 60 (Pomona Fwy) through Beaumont and intersect with Hwy
10. Pass Palm Springs, by Joshua Tree Nat Park, then into Phoenix.

Route 2 – Bakersfield: 758 miles, 12 hr 43 min

I5 to
Buttonwillow (hwy 58), turn left and go through Bakersfield.  Past Edwards Air force Base to Hwy 395. Merge
with hwy 15 then 215 and continue to Hwy 10. Turn left and continue per route
#1.

Open to suggestions, options, and other ideas!

Brent

Subject: [DeTomaso] Join a Pantera caravan to Arizona?

I made my reservations at the hotel for the Fun Rally, and assuming I can get that pesky cylinder #3 oil-burning problem fixed in time, I am planning to drive Pandora (that's the name of my '72, for reasons too many to explain here!) all the way to Arizona from right here in Tacoma, Washington.

What I'm wondering is if there is anyone who is also planning on driving who might be located on my way to Phoenix so I could join them.  As we all know, with Panteras it is safer to travel in packs...

I haven't looked at possible routes yet, so I haven't booked any hotels along the way and am flexible in my travel plans.  I am planning on a four-day drive there and back.

Thanks!
