[DeTomaso] Arm Rest Removal Problem

Another easy trick is to use a reverse rotation drill bit.  They are 
usually sold in Helicoil kits but are available at machine shop supply 
houses, like Wholesale Tool. The bit will actually help you unscrew the 
offending bolt or screw.
