It's not done by "somebody", it is factory original.
It was called the "penthouse", introduced for the big Iso Grifo 7 litri and 
the later Can Am 7.4 litri. It covered the three carbs, witch found no space 
under the hood. The early cars where powered by GM engines. After "trouble" 
with paying bils to GM, Renzo Rivolta used Ford Clevelands. Not deliverd by 
Ford! Those engines came from his old friend: Alejandro DeTomaso. DeTomaso 
delivered engines, gearboxes and suplied interieur parts and brakes.
