[DeTomaso] Cable Shifter

I'm not sure why this is, but I suspect it just has to do with moving more "stuff". ( Cables in conduits, bellcranks, lever arms, etc ) With the traditional shift rod actuation, the fore-aft and rotational movement of the shifter results in a direct and immediate movement of the actuator at the selector box of the ZF.

Can you pinpoint why? IS it flex in the cable itself?
