[DeTomaso] vacuum advance

I don't think 40 to 41 is that high, at least at cruise. I would set
initial to 8 degrees to start with the vacuum advance capped off and
check full advance with just the weights. Drive it like that to be
sure it operates properly. If it backfires under those conditions you
might be going lean or the marks may be off. Then hook up the vacuum
advance and check the performance. It shouldn't make a big
difference, but fuel mileage will be better while cruising. Then
advance a few degrees at a time to see where you get the best
performance. Be sure to check the plugs while you're tuning to be
sure nothing is going off the rails. Hard to do with modern unleaded
gas, but it's still possible. Clevelands like advance, but you want
to approach it carefully.

Does anyone know what the total vacuum advance is supposed to give so I can adjust it, at least for a starting point. Right now she is backfiring all over the place.
