David,

I was just online with the manufacturer and you have to swap out the
steering column with theirs and it does require some cutting of sheet metal
under the dash. I'm waiting for them to get back to me to clarify how much
cutting they are talking about.

David,

I believe the cost of the power steering kit is significantly less if you
deal directly with EZ Electric in Holland, rather than buying it from The
Driven Man or American Powertrain. The guys at EZ Electric are completely
fluent in English and use PayPal for payments, so they're very easy to deal
with.

The nice thing about electric power steering, other than being easy to set
precisely the amount of assist the driver desires is, it retains your OEM
steering rack and column. In fact, unlike a pump driven, hydraulic power
steering system, if your engine stalls, you still have power assist and if
the electric power steering unit were to fail (or your electrical system
died completely), you still have your original, non-power assisted steering.

Dave
