[DeTomaso] Trans cooler...at BBORR

I think Steve Hawkins kept track of the trans temps that year. I don't think we saw anything alarming in any of the cars.
All ran at 100+ speeds at times that year, some a lot faster. The last 2 races I ran in a Pantera I had stick on temp indicators
I got from one of our aerospace friends and again saw nothing alarming...170 to 180ish temps I think. I was running the
latest Amsoil product and know that made a difference. I had a 140 tech speed those years and accidentally got up to 150
a couple of times too. FWIW.

I've been thinking of putting the old Gruppo Rompiculi Corsa gang together again. I'm getting my car back together and
every time I'm in Ft. Stockton I'm still asked about when the Panteras are coming back. I had a chance to drive a couple of
the ORR courses around the country lately just coincidentally with work projects. I was in the missile fields up north and took time
to drive the SandHills course and later took off to drive the Nevada course while in Nellis area. (Never buy a used car from Avis)
They're all fun, but it confirmed what everyone tells me and that is the Big Bend ORR is the best course of them all. Everything
is convenient and there is plenty of hotel space. The locals are just as excited and supportive as they've ever been. You should
try to do this at least once before it's gone. When I see how the oil & gas industry is moving back into the Texas oil patches with
a vengeance I wonder if they'll agree to close a major highway in the area...and this is an active area.

Just thinking out loud here. Anyone of the old guys and anyone new up for a Big Bend Pantera invasion?

> Back in 2005, when TPR had ten (10!) Panteras running the BBORR, someone had a new IR temp gun.(Michael Frazier might remember who it was?) It was decided to monitor the ZF temps at the end of the event. I never heard what the results were, I know my car was about 175 degrees (95 cruise speed). This is a LOT different than competing at LeMans.
