[DeTomaso] Carb question

I have the exact same problem. I just installed a fast idle solenoid which seems to work well but I have it wired so it cycles with the AC compressor which makes it more of a pain than its worth. I thought connecting it to the switch was the way to go, but turns out its also the deicing switch which cycles the compressor. These solenoids need you to blip the throttle to hold it at fast idle. they don't have enough strength to actually bump up the throttle only to hold it. Maybe I'll put it on its own toggle that is swithed on procedurally for the AC and use it as a cold start adjunct as well. Just a thought. Anyone have a solution so it will function the whole time the AC system is activated? Is there a switched 12volt in the AC system that stays that way even when the compressor is cycling?> From: chrisvkimball at msn.com

When I try to set the idle, I seem to have only two choices. 1) set the idle too fast (1800 rpms) so that when I turn on the air conditioner, the car won't die (it goes to about 1100 rpms with the a/c on), or 2) set the idle for 1100 without the a/c, but when I turn on the a/c it drops down to about 500 rpms and is at risk of dying when I let out the clutch.
