Hmmm, Mike brings up an interesting point.
He postulates his seats came like this:
FRONT
| | | | |
| ----- | _ | |
|<\ | | | | />| Adjusters outboard pointing out
| |---------| | |-| | |---------| |
| | | | | | | |
| | seat | | | | seat | |
| | | | | | | |
| ----------- | | ----------- |
***********************************
This does make some sense as the adjuster would have room to get your
hand around it. However, if they were like this:
FRONT
| | | | |
| ----- | _ | |
| />| | | |<\ | Adjusters inboard pointing in
| |---------| | |-| | |---------| |
| | | | | | | |
| | seat | | | | seat | |
| | | | | | | |
| ----------- | | ----------- |
***********************************
I don't think there would be comfortable room to get your hand in there.
so if the adjusters were indeed pointing away from the seat, as they
are with Mike's, I'd say they most surely were mounted to the edge of
the seat closest to the door.
And that's my final answer.

<but I'll leave mine they way they are for now>
