It's pretty common when changing main caps to stake the upper part of the 
register surface about 1/4"- 3/8" away from the first indent with a wide 
chisel and a big hammer. This upsets the metal enough to tighten most caps but 
it gets done before line-honing. Its also done when detonation loosens a cap. 
Should not be an issue on the block; good luck- J Deryke
