...as well as moisture.   Back in the 1970s people used to put pads on the 
underside of the decklid and the front trunk.   Years later, some of them 
found RUST coming through the paint.   In a hot environment with high 
humidity, the car will 'sweat' there and the pads trap the moisture.   So be 
careful....
