Tom, I assume you're talking of a stock bay-brace. In that case, the fit 
into the welded tab slots on the wheelwells is so sloppy that virtually any 
variations will simply slide the bolts back & forth in the slots. You cannot 
get the bolts tight enough to absorb cornering loads. This is the reason I 
usually recommend an adjustable bay-brace and specifically one that has ends 
long enough to jam into the welded pockets outboard of the slotted tabs. So 
the answer to the question is, with a stock part it probably doesn't matter.
