[DeTomaso] NPC - sightseeing in Italy

I love Rome. You could easily spend a week there and not see everything. If you have never been to the Forum you should go there--it is a trip to walk on 2000 year old paving stones and see where Julius Caesar was cremated. St. Peter's Basilica is another must-see. Take the stairs up to the top and look at the people below, who look like ants

There's also the Church of the Martyrs and Angels (or similar name) designed by Michelangelo and built INSIDE the Baths of Diocletian, which date from like 400 AD.

At night you'll want to wander around and see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. Great people watching.

Get the book by Rick Steves-- it's the best and most concise and doesn't waste your time.

The Pompeii tour is fascinating. Way too much to see in Rome to do in a day,
ut good luck! I spent a week traveling Venice, Florence, Rome, Pompeii,
nd Naples and have more pics of parked cars than tourist stuff.....but
hat's just me.

tip of Italy) during the week and plan to spend a day sightseeing in Rome

the way home. Looks like all the auto museums are well north of Rome. Any
auto related sights of note near Marsala/Palermo or Rome? Any other
 sightseeing recommendations?

 Thanks,
