I think you could use SOBill Taylor's diagrams which he and Mike Dailey have

Short version:

1. what color the wires are that go to the wiper toggle switch?
2. what number fuse originally supprted the wipers?
3. is a fan 3 way toggle set up identically to a wiper 3 way toggle (for
that matter, were wiper switches for a 74 2 way or 3 way)?

Long version (including a couple of electronics for dummies lessons):

	* car came with no wiper arms and a fan blower 3 way toggle switch in place
of the wiper switch
	* when i toggled the switch into either the first or second position,
nothing happened - the windshield washer fluid pump switch and pump work
	* i vaguely remembered a Houston Tech workshop that put the motor (my
immediate assumption was the motor was the place to start...don't know why
other than it is brittish and old) behind a shield behind the right front
tire - that turned out to be correct
	* for those that have never done this, my shield was fastened with 2 nuts
(#10 metric socket)and a phillips head screw
	* the bracket that holds the motor has a rubber lining that in my case was
very crusty - go easy if you have any desire to reuse this lining (Q: by the
way, is that piece of rubber available from the vendors?)
	* the motor is powered via a cable coming off the wiring harness found near
by and connecting via a five blade plug into a 5 blade receptacle on the
motor, in side the plug and inside the receptacle the blade pattern is one
top, two underneath that and two more underneath those
	* multimeter: i have never used one and know little to nothing about
electronics - we all start somewhere/sometime - bought one, read the manual,
put it in each different mode and tested the plug and got nothing - so on to
the motor
	* the motor has a long cable with a spring coil wrapped around it - take
the wiper arms off if your car has them (mine didn't) because the round
posts that the arms attach to spin around and around as you extract the 3
plus foot cable
	* detach four small nuts on the back of the wiper motor and you will see an
arm that the cable is attached to via a spring clip - remove the spring
clip, remove the cable (along with a washer on top (just under the spring
clip) and under the cable - store it all safely away
	* bench testing: i have read that term a lot but have never bench tested
anything in my life
	* used the multimeter again on each of the 5 blades of the 5 blade
receptacle on the motor and found 2 that made the multimeter beep - ok, so
those two were connected - no clue what that means, but noted it anyway
	* next, went to radio shack and bought little alligator clips and a set of
battery clips - soldered a clip of each type to the end of a length of 16
guage wire and made 2 wires with a battery clip on one end and a small
alligator clip on the other
	* hooked up to the pos and neg on a 12 volt car battery (maybe there are
smaller 12v batteries, but i used an old car battery i had lying around -
used a battery trickle charger to charge it up first) and the two alligator
clips to each of the blades that were connected
	* upon hooking up the 2nd wire, miracles of miracles, the motor started
humming along - couldn't believe that it actually worked and that i had
gotten it to actually work - for those of us like me that know nothing about
electronics it is a bit like immaculate conception to see a piece of
machinery come alive
	* OK - so the wiper motor was not the problem - while i have it out though,
i will replace the cheesy plastic toothed gear in there - Q: do the vendors
sell this gear?)
	* i taped up the the opening where the wiper cable goes to the wiper arm
posts so no dirt would get in while driving - same for the connector plug
	* back went the cover that covers the wiper motor assembly and wheel - some
spirited driving and on to the next step
	* turned the ignition to on, but did not start the car - checked all the
fuses - everything that lit lit on both sides of the fuse wire - so that all
seemed good - as an electrical dummy, i started by pulling and looking at
each fuse - a friend in the know explained that with the multimeter you can
access each of the two blades of each fuse from a small spot on top - if
only one side lights, that is your bad fuse - if both sides light, that is
powered on by the ignition switch and is good
	* finally went to the switch and popped it out - and of course, it was not
connected to any wires!
	* i did see a loose wire bundle and pulled it out - looks like a
yellow/black another yellow/black and a black spliced into a grey cable - i
cannot see the splie because it is doubled up and taped over several times -
at the end of the grey cable is a tiny, antique looking light bulb that was
lit - i am guess this must light the guages - the hazard light was backlit
in red, so that wasn't it - my recollection is that both tach and speedo are
lit, albeit very dimly - and the wire being about 6 inches long can't reach
over to the other guages - BUT, having said that, the original guages were
all replaced by the prior owner and that set has very bright white back
lighting - so maybe this light is intended for those guages - Q: anyone know
if the yellow/black and black bundle were intended to power? - was it this
light? - or could this be the wiper wiring hijacked?
	* there was wiring on either side that went to the hazard light and the
windshield washer toggle (which is working) - so i will dig further into the
wiring nest back there - Q: what color wires would have originally powered
the wiper switch? does the switch i have in there as a plug (a three way fan
blower switch) have the same configuration as a wiper switch would such that
i can use it as a plug and play if and when i find the washer wires? - if i
can't find the wires, can i wire from the switch straight to the motor? - is
such a 5 way plug avaliable? - why five wires going into the wiper motor?

thanks!

stephen
