[DeTomaso] shifting problems

I had one Pantera here that would not shift into 2nd or 4th no matter what 
I adjusted. Turned out to be the Hall replacement gate panel on the console: 
the opening was slightly too narrow for this car. I had to bevel the sides 
of the opening 45 degrees for enough swing on the stick to reliably engage 
both sets of gears. Try taking off the gate panel & see if the thing shifts
