Bill, if your car has the late-model over-center linkage in the clutch 
mechanism, the links are all steel-on-steel and have never been lubed since the 
car was shipped (if then). All of my links were worn, the pivot shafts were 
badly worn and lots of slop in the clutch linkage resulted. I added bronze 
bushings to the links and hardened steel for the pivot shafts. Made quite a
