The damage isn't nearly as bad as I had been told it was--the description 
(from Phil Stebbings, UK club founder who was present at the time) was that 
it was really destroyed.   To be sure, it was looking decidedly secondhand 
after that incident, but clearly the extent of the damage grew in the telling.
