[DeTomaso] question about installing 180 headers

It depends on the construction. I've worked with two different 180s and 
with both, adding them to the engine while it was in place was very, very 
difficult. Some bolts go in from the top and otheres go in from the bottom. With 
one set, there was a particular sequence you HAD to follow or the pipes 
simply wouldn't go on. Neither of those pre-L Panteras needed their tanks moved 
but I hope there are explicit directions included with your pipes.... 
And don't forget to mount a large heat shield attached to the decklid 
(normally not included as part of the pipe assembly); with one set of pipes, a 
coffee-can-sized spot of the decklid paint (left side) BOILED on a 30-mile 
highway run at legal speeds. Good luck- J Deryke
