[DeTomaso] gumball pantera purging air from cooling system

 I thought the optimal operating temp for the cleveland was 195 degrees.  Is this not true for a stroker motor?

I found strangely enough that 2 bottles of Lubegard Kool-it mixed with
water wound up lowering my temperature on average 10-15 degrees.
I wouldn't have believed it as I have tried using Water Wetter etc with
no resulting improvement.
I have a 393 stroker with 11.5:1 compression and it completely
overpowered my stock system. I eventually went to a Fluidyne radiator,
Spal cooling fans (2 pushers and 1 sucker), High flow waterpump, 180
degree Robert Shaw stat etc but the cooling was always a little
marginal.
195 degrees or so on a warm day in traffic. I flushed the system in the
summer and added the Lubegard with water and now I am running 170
degrees or so on the
highway and 180 degrees in traffic. I'll have to wait until next summer
to see how it does on a hot day but it has never run this cool even in
the winter.
I can't really explain it as I was using a water plus Norosion mixture
before. The only minor differences are that I am running a 10-30 Amsoil
synthetic now instead of the dino oil
and I am dialed up a couple of jets larger due to a low restriction
exhaust but otherwise it appears to be the Lubegard Kool-it. Weird or
what?
