Hi guys,

A group of PCNC guys (Brent Stewart, Rich Boschert, Bob Benson, Darryl
Johnson, and Lori Albino) went to Thunderhill Raceway yesterday to exercise
their Panteras in the manner for which they were built. As my Pantera hasn't
been touched since the motor broke in Reno, and my Cobra has a third-gear
problem, and my GT350 is in the seventh year of its six-month restoration, I
was sort of stuck.

But never say die; I gassed up my $35 beater Scirocco and headed for the
track!

Mad Dog Antenucci and Erik Belter came by to spectate; MD borrowed a helmet
and I took him for a 30-minute ride on the track. With only 85 hp at my
disposal, I wasn't going to give Bob Benson any grief, but I did surprise a
lot of people, and even managed to drive away from a couple of the Panteras!

I pointed out to MD how to turn a steering wheel and make a car go around a
corner, and he seemed to enjoy it--in fact he went so far as to say that if
he realized how great this day was going to be, he would have brought his
own Pantera and driven it too!

Here's a photo of the two of us, having just been past the Pantera behind;
the Spec Miata behind me was slower in the corners and faster in the
straights than I was; I eventually let him by and then chased him to the finish....

I'll let the other guys post their stories too!
