I just would like to introduce myself as this is my first mail to the list. My name is Wolfgang, I am in the fourties and I am living in good old bavaria; to be more specific: in a town nearby munich. I have the classic car obsession since I have got my licence... I come from a car nut family so it´s no wonder I have started driving with a little Abarth 1000OTS. Numerous classics were following; I had healeys, jaguars, citroens and ended up with cars from a producer which is 150kms away from my hometown. The brand is porsche and I was and am rather fascinated about 356s and pre 1973 911. In the moment my garage hosts a very nice tangerine 911S MY 1972 which is good fun to drive. After all these years and experiences I have to say that I was always fascinated by italian supercars of the 70s but my budget did not allow to pay for a ferrari engine overhaul, maserati spare parts or similar. Moreover that we have two V8 engined cars in my family and I am always smitten by the exhaust note, the torque ad the power of these engines at low revs. Changing to my nervous high reving porsche engine is sometimes a little bit exhausting then.... So on this basis it´s only logical to look for a pantera in the end.... And it´s not only logical: I really love these cars!!! Perfect lines, very rare and with fantastic but also somehow simple engines. Great! My Compliments to all of you out there as you already own one (or more) of these fantastic cars! I have started my search some weeks ago and also got in touch with Mike Drew who was incredibly helpful with all his recommendations and advise which is more than necessary for a novice like me...

The only thing which is missing for me now is the right car.... My favourite one would be a pre-L car in very good to perfect condition with very few mods. I am not a racer and what I am looking for is a totaly original looking car for tours to Switzerland, Italy and my annual drive to the Mille Miglia via the Austrian and Italian Alps. I don´t need wider rims; I don´t need extra power (I would even be happy with the original engine spec to be able to drive with a somehow economic fuel consumption; although I know that I am not looking for a Toyota Prius but for an italian supercar of the 70´s when fuel consumption was not a major thing....). So if you know a suitable car for me out there I would be totally happy if you could write me a short reply.....

By the way: Sorry about my bad english but I hope that I could express my thoughts somehow.

Many thanks to all of you!!

Wolfgang
