And how many years/miles does a $2400 battery get you? Just in case I ever thought I needed to buy a Honda Insight to help save the world? Of coarse it would have to be used, cause this por boy can't afford to buy new! lol

I was assuming he already had a code reader - otherwise he wouldn't have
known it was a Secondary HO2S Circuit Fault.

BTW, I took my Insight to the Honda dealer a while back.  I was being a
wuss.  The accessory idler bearing was going out, and I didn't feel like
cutting up my hands replacing it.  I got the car back with a check engine
light.  They insisted they didn't do anything, and even offered to sell me a
hybrid battery at "below their cost" @ $2400.  I looked up the code and
found that you could pull the #16 fuse and it would reset the fault.  It
did, and 5 minutes later my car was operating normally - without any lights.
The fault tells you that you need to replace the hybrid battery.

My point?  I guess I don't have one.  I just don't like dealerships.

Find someone with a 'code reader' before you start throwing $$ at it
guessing what parts to replace.

Subject: [DeTomaso] NPC Check Engine Light

Hello guys,
I was driving my new Honda CR-Z  Hybrid thru Death Valley the other night
when I came around a curve and found a rock in the middle of my lane. I
wasn't able to avoid it so I straddled it but it was too tall and banged up
the bottom of my car. As soon as that happened I got a check engine light
which turns out to be a Secondary HO2S Circuit Fault (sensor2), O2 sensor as
near as I can figure. I can see no apparent damage to the sensor but the
muffler has a big dent in it. Is the dented muffler the likely cause of the
problem, increased heat due to the restriction, or does the circuit fault
mean there is no signal from the sensor, or something else? I know if I take
it to the dealer that they will want to replace the muffler and tail pipe
for a thousand dollars and still no guarantee of solving the problem. Any
thoughts?

Thanks,
Art
