Try replacing the o2 sensor first. They are very simple to change. Some
are cheap. Some are expensive.

Subject: [DeTomaso] NPC Check Engine Light
Hello guys,
I was driving my new Honda CR-Z Hybrid thru Death Valley the other night
when I came around a curve and found a rock in the middle of my lane. I
wasn't able to avoid it so I straddled it but it was too tall and banged up
the bottom of my car. As soon as that happened I got a check engine light
which turns out to be a Secondary HO2S Circuit Fault (sensor2), O2 sensor as
near as I can figure. I can see no apparent damage to the sensor but the
muffler has a big dent in it. Is the dented muffler the likely cause of the
problem, increased heat due to the restriction, or does the circuit fault
mean there is no signal from the sensor, or something else? I know if I take
it to the dealer that they will want to replace the muffler and tail pipe
for a thousand dollars and still no guarantee of solving the problem. Any
thoughts?
Thanks,
Art
