[DeTomaso] Clutch Chatter

Any idea why Dennis is selling the 3 finger version instead of the diaphragm version?  I think they both are good for 1,000 HP.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Clutch Chatter

I've got a fairly new McLeod dual plane clutch purchased this summer from
Dennis that has begun to chatter when rolling out in first or in reverse.
I've got about 700 miles on the clutch at this point, so it's gone through
it's break-in.  The clutch I removed was a Centerforce, albeit the wrong
one, and had been in the car for about 10,000 miles before I pulled the ZF
to have it rebuilt.  I did not have the flywheel resurfaced as I had done so
when the new motor went in back in 2007, and to Dennis' instructions, gave
it a light going over with fine-grit red garnet sand paper on a flat sanding
block.  Both the new pressure plate and flywheel were then thoroughly
cleaned with brake cleaner.

Is there anything I can do to minimize/cure the chatter short of pulling the
ZF and resurfacing the pressure plate and flywheel?
Is this something that is going to get worse over time?

I sure miss the counter-weighted diaphragm design of the Centerforce.  The
3-finger McLeod starts to take a toll on my running-abused ankle after a
long day of driving.

Thanks in advance
