Unfortunately, I cannot control myself and will contribute to this political nonsense.

The SH.I.T will never come about.  3 reasons:

1: It seems reasonable and fair (for a start up situation) and I like it.
b) No one will make a lot of money from it.
3! A lot of people would actually lose $.

But we all know this, right?

As for the folks that don't pay taxes (on welfare or whatever): this doesn't make one a bad citizen.  Continued cheating the system makes one bad.  ("I've lived here in the flood plain and plan to rebuild, the gov't has paid me to do this three times and I'll never leave my home, thank you taxpayers.")  I am now joining the non-tax paying side of things.  (not that its your business, but it should p!$$ off most of the folks I don't agree with.) AND I have gov't paid health-care (this is good? NoFWay!).

I worked hard for almost 50 years (paying taxes all the while), "served" [1] in Viet Nam, never been convicted of a felony, try to be a good neighbor and now I sofa king deserve it.  My family is in Merika because we were criminals (the poor shuffled of to Georgia) or came to work and pay taxes - this includes contributing [1] to this society I hate.

Let us add to Mr. Shortt's list:

public service: military/health care (anyone can learn to empty a bed-pan) or some such. There is something you believe in that will help the situation here.

Now I've wasted far too much "sit in the sun and take my coffee" time (mine) and yours.

One more thing: no more politics on the Pantera list.
