[DeTomaso] NPC - Yenko Pontiac T/A

Some years back I ran into a person who thought they purchased the HO 455 but
none of the parts he bought for that application fit. He researched it further
and found it was a 489 with at least an aluminum intake painted factory colors
to look like the 455. A certain number had to be produced in order to be
eligible for some race so that's how they accomplished that. It was close to 30
years ago and thought he was blowing smoke. He opened the hood, showed is the
manifold and the documentation that backed up his story. That car was a beast
and a beautiful one at that. Boy did he get a heck of a deal.

In 1976, I had an opportunity to buy a 1971 Trams Am HO 455 Ram Air III for
$3,000 in perfect condition
Blue with white and black stripes and a Blue interior.

My mother wouldn't let me because she thought it was more dangerous than my
1970 Ford Mustang
Mach One ( Limestome Metallic Green ) with a 351 Cleveland.

I used to dust Trans-Ams all of the time, my was faster, I just thought the
TA was cooler at the time,
but I never told her about the other thing.

I still have the Mustang ( awaiting restoration and non-running)

I can still see that car, it was amazing.
