That may explain why I wiped out my McCloud clutch in very few miles after
installing my Muncie and Lakewood scattershield.

I bought a Scattershield for my previous Firebird
motor and also could not figure out how to get
the clutch to engage until I talked to a Firebird
shop back east and he told me I needed to buy
the adjustable pinion for the clutch arm

Not sure why Summit or Lakewood would not
give you one or tell you that it is needed in
the first place

I also ruined that motor and trans as I did not
center the Bell housing on the new motor
I was told it is mostly required for the Ford transmissions

I tried to center the bell housing on the next
motor and finally gave up and bought a new
scattershield from Quick time.. when I called and
talked to him to make sure I did not have to go
thru all the BS that the Lakewood was requiring
he told me his company was actually bought by
Lakewood and he was trying to fix their bell housings
so they would fit properly from the start
