[DeTomaso] Fwd: MME?s 21st CENTURY CLEVELAND 2K CRATE ENGINE: THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

All,

I would also like to add that these headers fit the car right out of the box, no field adjustments required.  I was also provided with 800 more RPM ove the Hall System that came with the car when I bought it.  The motor would fall flat on its face at 5400 rpm, not any more.

I don't recall writing in my email it was the best for all.  I was taking this from the context of a conversation I thought was interesting.  In that context, for the particular build he was speaking about these headers made 26 more horsepower. I did not grill anyone about the RPM range or the eventual application.

It does not seem possible that one particular headers design could be the best for all 351 Clevelands.   Shouldn't the header design complement the engine parameters, and specifically the RPM range the engine is intended to make power over?  And it isn't necessarily the single peak HP that is most important, it's having power over a useable RPM range.

For those of you that care.

I was looking at the engine on the web site and the headers look like the same headers on my car.  I got my headers from Pat at Performance Automotive so I gave him a call to find out what the deal was.  Pat told me that Mark McKeown was indeed buying headers from him and he commented that these were the best Cleveland headers he had worked with, making 26 more HP than other headers he was testing.

Best regards,

Mark

LOL. 4 of my neighbors are 4W Harley owners (Whitehair WhiteColor Weekend Warriors). Every time my wife hears me comment on how obnoxious their straight pipes are, she reminds me that the Pantera going through the neighborhood shakes the house more than their hogs.  She knows how to make a guy smile.

I'd burn my money to keep warm if I had to. Lucky for me in Florida I can stay warm cooking steaks on the grill in mid winter......in shorts.
