Another issue I have with that article is the section on 4.22 and 3.77
ring and pinion, and that only the ring gear needs to be changed. I
don't see how that would work.
The ring and pinion is normally a matched set, and although the 4.22 and
3.77 sets probably has the same number of teeth on the pinion, the
modulus and diameter has to be different. The 4.22 ring gear is probably
thicker and the pinion smaller, while the 3.77 ring gear is thinner and
the pinion larger, otherwise I can't see how it could possibly work.
