Hi guys,

Got this today from Oyvind Bakken in Norway:

=====

I have done some Pantera wrenching and it feels good to get a step further
with Dagny's Pantera. I discovered something that can be useful to you( and
others as well) when dealing with the suspension/steering of her car. I
found that the two u-joints found in the steering shaft was a bit stiff,
possible causing some binding. After some thinking, I found a glass jar with a
metal cap that I filled with a mix of 50% lacquer thinner and 50% gear oil, and
put the joints into this for some days. I took them up and moved the joints
several times to help work the liquid into the bearing surfaces of the
joint, leaving the joints in the glass for days again. After repeating this
several times, the both joints are moving almost like new. Hope this can be to
help :)

So, there you go. The shift linkage uses the same U-joints too. :>)

Mike
