[DeTomaso] Next question - best oilpan gasket

This does sound worth a look.  Would I still need the rubber pieces at the
front and back?

Frankly, my best results have been with no gasket.  Just the rubber parts at
the front and back, then good quality blue RTV over everything.  You must
properly clean before application, lightly snug the bolts, let it cure
thoroughly, then tighten the screws.  Failure to clean well or failure to
allow full cure usually ends in poor results.

I find the gaskets all get oil saturated and lead to leaks no matter what
you do.

I've seen some pretty slick looking 1-pc elastomeric gaskest for SBCs.  I'd
love to try one for a Cleve, but alas I think there be none.
