Ford used heavier harmonic balancers on higher rpm engines like the Boss 302 and Boss 351 and lighter ones on low compression hydraulic lifter engines in Mom's auto trans station wagon. So balancer weights seems to be tied to the horsepower of the engine and the rpm range it will be expected to run. Good luck- J DeRyke
