Bud, I can't answer any of your dimensional questions as I started using a 
non-bypass water pump 20 years ago, but if you have a 351-M or a 400 block 
around, the thermo ring was cast in place on those blocks, so for sure 
they're where Ford wanted them. And I believe those blocks used the same 
thermostat as the 351-Cs. Just a suggestion- J Deryke
