[DeTomaso] gumball pantera overflow water tank question

Yes- inevitable air in the engine heats up and expands very rapidly on 
start-up. The 'pressure tank'- really a de-aerator or 'surge' tank- is supposed 
to remove this air while providing extra water to take up the void left by 
the air, so this tank should be mounted as high as possible. Another reason- 
the pressure tank has a joint around the middle and that joint is supposed 
to be above the clamp ring. Mounting the ring below the clamp can cause the 
fairly heavy tank (when full) to drop through the clamp as far as the hoses 
will allow, as the rubber liner in the clamp is usually deteriorated. The big 
overflow tank is just a catch-can or container and can go anywhere handy.
