FWIW, a few years ago I tried to buy one of these out of Ontario.   The 
seller got cold feet because of the legal issues--these things are completely 
Verboten in the USA (Larry Stock's car is the only one I know of that got an 
exemption from the goverment, because it was privately imported by a company 
that was seeking to introduce them to the US market, a venture that quickly 
fizzled out).

Apparently Canadians can get into deep, deep legal trouble if they 
knowingly sell something that's contraband like this to the USA.   I tried all sorts 
of things to get the guy to go along with my little scheme (to include the 
fact that half my family is from, and lives in Canada) but he just wouldn't 
do it.

I've driven Larry's car, and really love it.   It's no Pantera of course, 
but it's an amazingly fun and fast city car, a real point-and-squirt special.

If I had the garage space, I still think I'd try to find a way to own one 
of these things.....
