Has anyone had any experience or opinions they would care to shore with Dart
Blocks I was considering their 427 short block and using aluminum heads to
build a "Cleavor" or one of their aluminum blocks and building "actually
have built" as I am not an engine builder. Their aluminum blocks don't come
in"short block" assemblies . The aluminum race blocks are around twice as
much money as their "Iron Eagle" blocks. Do you think it's worth the extra
expense to go with the aluminum block? They also advertise a "Billet Block"
that can be built to your exact specifications (of a series of
specifications) but no price is listed for this bloc , not even a starting
price. Is anyone familiar with this product line? Even though I would prefer
to keep my Cleveland block ,until it is apart I don't know if it is going to
be in good enough shape to be rebuilt and stroked so I am looking at options
in advance. Also The idea of the opportunity to go for more cubic inches( up
to a max of 465 with one of the dart blocks,( I think it's 450 with the
aluminum block)
is appealing ( If I went with a Dart Block I would go 427 CI but the extra
capacity leaves a margin for a rebuild )
Thanks for your opinions.
Boyd
