Please consider this informed opinion:

"As far as I know" and "to the best of my knowledge" from what I have been told repeatedly over the years this is the process (more or less): one orders a "continuation Cobra" from Shelby American (or whatever they call it now). Buyer will need to specify fiberglass or aluminum body. A fiberglass car might probably be a Superformance car to which is added a CSX VIN number. the aluminum cars are from Kirkham and have the CSX VIN added. I'm not sure how the powertrain process is completed - it could be Shelby built or buyer specified, I don't know.

Whatever added value of a continuation car might have comes from the CSX Vin. Some collectors ooh and aaah (while appropriately bowing and scraping) at the CSX Vin, others might have another opinion.

My Kirkham

It boils down to whether one wants to pay the extra $$$$$$$$$ for the Vin number, in my opinion.

If this is really one of the?replicas Shelby built, it may be a deal:

I thought they were selling for a lot more.? Looks like real knock-offs, but they don't show the rear suspension.
