Will, a 40-micron dirt particle is 0.0016" dia, which is PD-small. A 
10-micron dirt particle is 1/4 that size at 0.0004". I don't know the specs on 
your injectors, but I'd bet they will pass a 10 micron chunk without even 
noticing. With a 40-micron, not sure. Most injectors have a fine screen built 
into their input side to catch 'some' size particles; don't remember now what 
screen size that is. 
I'd call someone that rebuilds and/or calibrates injectors for a living,
