[DeTomaso] MSD Distributors

Sorry, I guess it's the engine screen (not the bulkhead cover) that can't go on due to the 8477 being 3 inches taller than my old distributor. That makes sense.
I'm going to see it tomorrow. If anyone out there is running an MSD distributor, please drop me a line and let me know what model you went with and whether it still allowed for the engine screen to pop back in without issue.
Thanks,
EA

Hey Mike and others ...
I am having the MSD 8477 dropped in today and it's 3 inches taller than my Motocraft. The speed shop is saying that the bulkhead hatch won't be able to seal.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I did think the 8477 looked a little tall ...
Thanks,
EA

Thanks a ton, Mike. The MSD #8477 seems like the one I need. The #8350 has some different wiring (read: not plug-n-play like the #8477).
I’ll keep you posted …
Uh...no.
If you don't already have an MSD box, then your car won't run with an 8477. You'll have to buy an MSD box to go with it, and do a bunch of wiring. The 8350 is the plug-and-play distributor that only has three wires, and just drops in.
