[DeTomaso] MSD distributor

Installed a MSD drop-in distributor and initially had it hooked up to a  
Mallory ignition system coil.  It would run up to 5500 RPM then flat line  
like it had a rev limiter.  Slowly RPM backed down to  5000RPM  Friend gave me 
a "old" MSD II coil to try.  It is flat lining  now at 4500 RPM.  Have a new 
coil on order.  If that fails, anyone  have an idea what it could be?
