I removed those two last time I had my ZF on the floor. Nothing has broken, nothing has cracked.

Does make life easier for the next - there is always a next - time the ZF comes out.

Did you install the two lower allen head boilts on the inside of the bellhousing to ZF? If not then you can pull the transaxle and leave the bellhousing/starter in place. The very reason those two bolts are often missing!
