[DeTomaso] NPC: Looking for wiring diagram for the alternator on a 1989 Chevrolet G20 van

I need to fix my sons G20 van so that I can get rid of it from the 
driveway, where it blocks the Pantera, so slight Pantera content. :)

Anyway, it has been sitting for close to a year, and it started out as a 
starter issue, and after I replaced the starter brushes, a brake hose 
broke, and now the stopper is that the alternator doesn't start charging.

The problem appears to be in the the excitation circuit. I have verified 
on the bench that the alternator works.

I need a digram that shows where the two thin wires on the alternator 
(black/pink, and black) goes. I believe the black/pink should be switched.

The van has a voltmeter, and thus no alternator indicator light.

I have tried google, but I only find generic diagrams, which is of 
little use when I need to trace wiring issues.
