Some aftermarket mechanical pumps will put out more than the 'stock' 6-7 
psi carburetors like. A few put out as much as 15 psi and have caused engine 
fires. Summit has regulators in the $20 range. Cheap insurance as there's 
nothing inherently wrong with the slightly higher pressure pumps. Just be sure 
to get a regulator for V-8s as too small a regulator will starve the carb on 
a 351-C at higher rpms.   Good luck- J Deryke
